1. Install, update, uninstall

Install

  1. Close Revit.
  2. Download BIMit_Setup_<version>.exe from the latest release.
  3. Double-click it, pick the language (BIMit in Revit will use it too) and who gets BIMit: just you — recommended, no administrator rights needed — or all users of this PC, if you are an administrator. BIMit installs in every version of Revit 2022–2026 on the PC (and in the ones you install later).
  4. Open Revit: you will find the BIMit tab.

Opening BIMit_Setup_<version>.exe again with BIMit installed lets you update, repair or remove it.

If Windows shows the SmartScreen warning: More info → Run anyway.

Update — you don't have to do anything. When Revit starts, BIMit checks for a new version, downloads it by itself and installs it when you close Revit, with no windows and no administrator rights (if BIMit is installed for all users, Windows asks for an administrator's approval). To get it right away: the Update to … button at the top of the BIMit windows → Download and install → Close Revit and update. The next time, at the first command, a message tells you BIMit has been updated and what has changed. New buttons and features arrive this way, on their own.

Some updates are mandatory: BIMit tells you at the first command and, if needed, lets you download the new version with one click. Commands work again after you close and reopen Revit.

Uninstall — Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → BIMit → Uninstall. Parameters already written to models stay.
