What it does
Writes the drawing register (elenco elaborati) to an Excel file (.xlsx) from the model's export history, without exporting anything: it is the same register the "Export" window (Esporta tavole) updates with "Update the drawing list" after each export. For each sheet or view exported with this model:
- number, title, revision and revision date;
- the file of each exported format (PDF, DWG, DGN, DWF, NWC, IFC, images);
- the export date.
Rows are in sheet number order (A-12 before A-102).
How it works
- Your AI calls the tool, with or without the file path.
- BIMit reads the history in the preset linked to the model and writes the Excel file, by default in the export folder with the name set in the settings (with BIMit in English, usually "Drawing register.xlsx").
- Your AI tells you where the file was written and how many rows it has.
Example requests
- "Update the drawing register."
- "Write the drawing register to C:\Issues\Drawing register CD.xlsx."
- "Prepare the drawing register to attach to the transmittal."
What changes and how to undo
The model does not change. The given Excel file is written; if it already exists, it is replaced. To undo, delete the file or put back an earlier copy. The history and the export settings stay as they are.
Limits
- Needs the AI level "Write" (the default), because it writes a file on this PC.
- If the settings have no export folder, your AI must give the path.
- If the file is open in Excel it cannot be written: close it and try again.
- If nothing has been exported with these settings yet, the register has only the headers.
