What it contains
The tools your AI uses to work on the model's WBS as in BIMit's "WBS" window: it reads and writes the WBS configuration linked to the model (the same .json file the window opens), previews the code of every element, reads the model's actual values to build tables and rules, writes the WBS parameters into the elements and exchanges the configuration with an Excel dictionary to fill in with the client's codes.
An element's WBS code is made of several parameters (for example WBS_Progetto, WBS_Livello, WBS_Disciplina) joined by a separator into a final parameter that holds the complete code (for example WBS_Codice). Each parameter takes its value from fixed text, from Project Information, from a property of the element, or from a list of codes chosen through per-type corrections, rules, conversion tables or keywords.
When to use it
- You need to code the model's elements with BIMit's standard WBS or with the client's.
- You have the client's code table and want to turn it into rules, starting from the model's actual values (levels, families, systems).
- Before writing, you want to know how many elements are complete, to review or incomplete, and why.
- You want to write or update the WBS codes in the elements in a single operation that can be undone.
- You prefer filling in the codes in Excel: download the dictionary, fill it in, load it back.
The tools
- WBS guide — explains to your AI how BIMit's WBS configuration is built.
- Configuration — the configuration linked to the model, the one in a file, or the standard WBS adapted to the model.
- Save configuration — checks, saves and links a complete configuration to the model.
- Code preview — computes the codes without writing: counts, problems, values element by element.
- Write the codes — creates the missing parameters and writes the WBS values into the elements.
- WBS values — the distinct values of a property in the elements, with how many elements have each one.
- Export dictionary — saves the configuration as an Excel dictionary to fill in.
- Load dictionary — reads the filled-in dictionary and updates the configuration.
Good to know
Every change to the model can be undone with Ctrl+Z in Revit; team actions ask for confirmation in Revit.
Where it is in Revit
BIMit tab › Data panel › WBS.
The same operations can be done by hand in the "WBS" window ("Open window" button): starting from the standard WBS or a manual one, the parameters for the whole project and for each category, "Download dictionary..." and "Load dictionary...", "Preview" with the code of every element, and "Write to model...", which shows the summary before writing. The window opens the configuration linked to the model, the same one your AI uses.
