Code preview

Reads

Computes the WBS code of the elements without writing anything, with counts by state and category, the most frequent problems and where each value comes from.

What it does

Computes the WBS code of the elements with the configuration linked to the model, or with a trial configuration passed by your AI, without writing anything. It is the same check as BIMit's "Preview" window (Anteprima).

It returns:

  • the totals by state: complete, to review (fallback value or uncertain recognition), incomplete (a required value is missing, the value is not in the table, not recognized, ambiguous or contains the separator), no rules;
  • the same counts by category;
  • the most frequent problems (up to 20), with the parameter and how many elements they affect, and the parameters that most often use the fallback value;
  • the list of elements (50 by default): id, category, family and type, level, state, complete code and, for each parameter, the value and where it comes from, with the element's problems.

The list can be limited to one state (for example only the incomplete ones) or to certain elements; the computation can be limited to some categories or to the elements of a view.

How it works

  1. Your AI picks the configuration (the linked one or a trial one) and, if needed, categories, view, state or elements to list.
  2. BIMit checks the configuration, reads the elements in Revit and computes the codes, without changing the model.
  3. You get the counts and the elements to fix; your AI can suggest rules, keywords or tables to add and then run the preview again.

Example requests

  • "Preview the WBS: how many elements are incomplete and why?"
  • "Show me the WBS codes of the walls in the active view."
  • "Try this configuration without saving it and tell me how many elements become complete."

What changes and how to undo

Nothing: the tool only computes. It does not write into the elements, does not save the configuration and does not change the link to the model, even when it is given a trial configuration.

Limits

  • If the configuration has errors, the tool lists them (up to 20) instead of computing.
  • A configuration linked to the model or passed by your AI is needed; without one, the tool asks to create it with Save configuration.
  • Only the categories included in the configuration are counted: if none of the given categories is included, the tool says so.

Parameters

ParameterMeaning
configurazioneA trial configuration to use instead of the linked one.
categorieOnly these categories (internal names such as OST_Walls).
vistaOnly the elements of this view (name, or "attiva" for the active view).
vista_idOr the view id.
statoList only the elements in this state: ok, review, incomplete, norule.
idsList these elements.
limiteHow many elements to list (default 50).
