Tool

Configuration

Technical name: wbs_configurazione

Data › WBS

Reads

Reads the WBS configuration linked to the model, the one in a .json file, or BIMit's standard WBS adapted to the model.

What it does

Returns a complete WBS configuration to your AI, in three ways:

  • linked (default): the configuration linked to the open model, the same one the "WBS" window opens, with the file path and the shared parameter file active in Revit. If the model has none linked, it returns an empty configuration and says so;
  • standard: BIMit's standard WBS adapted to this model: only the categories present in the model, the level tables filled in with the model's levels, the Project Information fields adapted, and the shared parameter file active in Revit if the WBS does not name one. It is not saved;
  • from a file: the configuration in a given .json file, without linking it.

How it works

  1. Your AI picks what to read: the linked configuration, the standard WBS or a file.
  2. BIMit reads the model in Revit (categories, levels, Project Information) when needed and returns the configuration.
  3. Your AI summarizes it for you or uses it as the base to change and save with Save configuration.

Example requests

  • "Which WBS configuration is linked to this model?"
  • "Start from BIMit's standard WBS and adapt it to this model."
  • "Read the WBS configuration in C:\Projects\Hospital\WBS.json and compare it with the linked one."

What changes and how to undo

Nothing: the tool only reads. Even with the standard WBS nothing is saved or linked; to use it, it has to be saved.

Limits

  • If the linked file is in the format of BIMit's first prototype, the tool does not read it and says so.
  • With a path that does not exist it answers "File non trovato" (file not found).

Parameters

ParameterMeaning
