What it does
Reads a filled-in WBS Excel dictionary (.xlsx) and updates the configuration linked to the model, like "Load dictionary..." in the "WBS" window. The sheet can have Italian, Portuguese or English headings.
- The parts of the code, the items with codes, descriptions and keywords, the parent, the digits and the fallback value come from the dictionary.
- What the dictionary does not describe stays as it was: rules, per-type corrections and conversion tables already made for the same parameter, the other project parameters, the included categories.
- If the configuration does not include any categories yet, all those of the model are included; the level tables are filled in with the model's levels.
If the dictionary has errors, nothing changes and the answer lists them with the warnings. Otherwise the updated configuration is saved and linked to the model (to the file already linked, or to Documents\BIMit<model>_WBS.json if there is none); with salva=false your AI gets it without saving.
How it works
- Your AI gives the filled-in .xlsx file.
- BIMit reads the sheet, checks the blocks and builds the new configuration, reading the model's categories and levels in Revit.
- You get how many parameters, codes and categories it holds, the warnings and where it was saved; then you can check the result with the Code preview.
Example requests
- "Load the filled-in WBS dictionary C:\Projects\Hospital\WBS_dictionary.xlsx."
- "Read the client's dictionary without saving it and tell me what changes."
What changes and how to undo
The file of the WBS configuration linked to the model changes: it is overwritten (or created and linked if there was none). With salva=false nothing changes. The elements of the Revit model are not touched: the new codes reach the model only with Write the codes.
Ctrl+Z in Revit does not undo saving the file: to go back, save the previous configuration again with Save configuration (read it first with Configuration if you want to keep it).
Limits
- If the file is open in Excel it may not be readable: close it and try again.
- With a path that does not exist it answers "File non trovato" (file not found).
