Developer preview, coming soon. In BIMit 2.1.1 this tool (CAD → BIM package) is only in the developer's version: in the public beta it does not appear on the tab, in the pane or in "All tools", and your AI does not see it. With the developer's version, Paulo offers modelling and consulting.
What it does
Checks a BIMit plan against the drawing it came from, in three checks:
- Rooms: the space closed by walls, columns and separation lines against the area written in the drawing. The result is ok within 0.5% or 0.05 m², close (vicino) within 3%, different beyond that; joined when the same space holds other rooms (a wall or a separation between them is missing), open when it reaches the outside, no area when the drawing does not write one. For the rooms to look at, it says where the drawing's outline has neither a wall nor a separation ("fughe") and where the space differs from the drawn polygon ("differenze").
- Openings: for each code, how many the plan has against the drawing's tags and the schedule's quantities.
- Walls: how much of the lines of the wall layers lies on a wall of the plan (coverage in %) and where the longest lines without a wall are.
It does not change the model.
How it works
- Your AI calls the tool with the plan's id, usually after a correction with Correct the plan.
- BIMit reads the drawing again, runs the checks again and updates the check summary in the plan file.
- Your AI sums up the result: how many rooms are ok, which ones need a look and why, the codes whose counts differ, the missing walls; to see a spot it uses Drawing image.
Example requests
- "Check the plan again: which rooms don't match the drawing's area?"
- "Are all the PA2 doors there? Compare them with the tags and the schedule."
- "Where are walls missing compared with the DWG's wall layers?"
What changes and how to undo
The model and the drawing do not change. In the plan file (in %LOCALAPPDATA%\BIMit\Disegni) only the summary of the latest check is updated; walls, openings, rooms and separations stay as they are. There is nothing to undo.
Limits
- The AI level "Read" is enough; you choose the level with the "Level" button on the BIMit tab.
- Needs a plan already analyzed with Analyze the plan and its drawing still reachable.
- Spaces are measured on rows 1 cm apart: the error is a few square centimeters per meter of perimeter.
