Developer preview, coming soon. In BIMit 2.1.1 this tool (CAD → BIM package) is only in the developer's version: in the public beta it does not appear on the tab, in the pane or in "All tools", and your AI does not see it. With the developer's version, Paulo offers modelling and consulting.
What it does
Compares with the plan what the open model holds of a build made with Build in the model:
- walls and columns: how many the plan has and how many are in the model;
- openings: in total and by code, with the codes that do not match;
- rooms: the area Revit computes against the area written in the drawing. The result is ok within 0.5% or 0.05 m², close (vicino) within 3%, different beyond that, not enclosed when Revit cannot close the room, no area when the drawing does not write one.
It lists the rooms to look at, with id, name, number, area in Revit, drawing area and difference. It changes nothing.
BIMit recognizes the elements of a build by a mark it leaves on them when it creates them (the plan's id and the element's): elements added by hand do not count, deleted ones show as missing.
How it works
- Your AI calls the tool with the plan's id, usually after you fixed something by hand in Revit, or to check a build again.
- BIMit looks in the open model for the elements built from that plan and compares them with the plan and with the drawing's areas.
- Your AI tells you what is missing and which rooms do not match.

- "I fixed two walls by hand: compare the model with the plan again."
- "Which rooms in the model have an area different from the drawing's?"
- "Are all the W2 windows in the model?"
What changes and how to undo
Nothing: the tool only reads the model and the saved plan. There is nothing to undo.
Limits
- The AI level "Read" is enough; you choose the level with the "Level" button on the BIMit tab.
- Needs a project open in Revit with a build of that plan; if the plan was never built in this model, the model's counts are zero.
- The area of a room split into parts in the plan includes its parts.
