Queue

Sheets › Queue

Prepares the export queue and the saved selections of sheets and views before you export.

What it contains

The tools your AI uses to prepare an export before running it: it reads the file queue (one row for each sheet or view and each active format), removes or puts back rows, changes the page order of the combined PDF, sets the paper size, orientation or file name of individual sheets and views, and manages saved selections (named groups of sheets and views).

Everything is saved in the export settings linked to the model (the .json preset that the BIMit "Export" window, Esporta tavole, also opens), not in the elements of the Revit model. If the model has no preset yet, the first save creates it at Documents\BIMit\<model>_Esporta.json and links it to the model.

When to use it

  • You want to know, before exporting, which files will be created, with which name and in which folder.
  • Some sheets should not go out in a given format (for example no DWG for the cover sheet) and you want them to stay excluded in later exports too.
  • One sheet needs a paper size, orientation or file name different from the settings.
  • You often export the same group of sheets (a submission, a discipline, a work package) and want to call it by name, in the window, in the export and in scheduled exports.
  • You want an exact page order in the combined PDF.

The tools

  • Export queue — shows the file queue for the chosen sheets and views, without saving anything.
  • Edit the queue — removes or puts back sheet × format rows and changes the page order of the combined PDF.
  • Sheet and view settings — paper size, orientation or file name for individual sheets or views.
  • Save a selection — saves a group of sheets and views under a name.
  • Delete a selection — deletes a saved selection.

Good to know

AI level required: Read for the export queue, Write for the other tools (they write the preset on this PC).

These tools do not change the elements of the model: they only write the linked export preset.

Where it is in Revit

BIMit tab › Sheets panel › Queue.

The same operations can also be done by hand in the BIMit "Export" window (Esporta tavole), with the "Open window" button: the queue in the "3 · Create" tab; saved selections and per-sheet settings (right-click in the list) in the "1 · Selection" tab.
