Sheets › Profiles

Writes files

Chooses the profile that models without export settings start from, also as the team's default.

What it does

Chooses the profile that the export settings of models without settings yet start from (empty = BIMit's settings). It is the "Use as default for new models" item of BIMit's "Export" window (Esporta tavole).

With team it also does what "Publish to the team folder as default..." does: it copies the profile into the team folder and makes it the team's default, so colleagues who import that folder all start from it.

When a model has no preset yet, BIMit starts from the team folder's default, if it can be reached; otherwise from the user's default; otherwise from BIMit's settings.

How it works

  1. Your AI names the profile (or none) and, if needed, asks to publish it to the team folder.
  2. BIMit writes the default in the settings of your profiles folder; with team it copies the profile into the team folder, writes the team's default and remembers the folder.
  3. Your AI receives the default, the published file and the team folder.

Example requests

  • "New models should start from the Office standard profile."
  • "Publish Office standard as the team's default in \\server\BIM\Profili esportazione."
  • "Remove the default profile: new models should start from BIMit's settings."

What changes and how to undo

The profili.json file of your profiles folder changes. With team, the profile file is also copied into the team folder (overwriting the one with the same name), that folder's profili.json changes, and so does the team folder BIMit remembers. Models that already have a preset do not change, and the Revit model does not change.

Ctrl+Z does not undo these changes, because they are in files. To go back, call the tool again with the previous default (or empty); for the team, publish the profile that was the default again. The file copied into the team folder stays there until you remove it.

Limits

AI level required: Write; with team = true the Team level is required, because the profile becomes the default for the whole team. Only you choose the level in Revit. With team, a profile and a team folder must be given (or one must already be remembered).

Parameters

ParameterMeaning
nomeThe profile's name; empty for none (BIMit's settings).
teamtrue to publish the profile to the team folder as its default (default false).
cartella_teamThe team folder (default: the one BIMit already remembers).
