What it does
Changes the name of an export profile in the user's profiles folder. If the profile is the default for new models, it stays the default under its new name.
How it works
- Your AI gives the current name and the new one.
- BIMit checks that no other profile already has the new name and saves the profile under that name.
- Your AI receives the name used and the updated list of profiles.
Example requests
- "Rename the profile Submission to Construction submission 2026."
- "Call the default profile Office standard."
What changes and how to undo
The profile's file is renamed and, if the profile was the default, the default follows the new name. Characters that are not allowed in file names are removed from the new name. The Revit model and the models' presets do not change.
Ctrl+Z does not undo the change, because it is in a file: to go back to the previous name, rename the profile again.
Limits
AI level required: Write, which only you choose in Revit. If another profile already has the new name, the tool stops without changing anything.
