Preset

Technical name: tavole_preset

Sheets › Profiles

Reads

The model's current export settings, with the values allowed to change them.

What it does

Returns the export settings linked to the model, the ones BIMit's "Export" window (Esporta tavole) opens. If the model has no preset yet, it returns the settings it would start from: the team's or the user's default profile, otherwise BIMit's defaults.

The settings include the selection (filters, columns, saved selections), the advanced options (temporary view modes to switch off during the export), the formats and their options (PDF, DWG, DGN, DWF/DWFx, NWC, IFC, images, sheet data), the file-name pattern with its {fields}, the folder with its variables, the drawing register, the report, the scheduled exports and the last export.

Along with the settings come the allowed values: the fields for names, the folder variables, the paper sizes, the project's DWG and DGN export setups, the sheet sets, the view types, the IFC versions, the profiles, and whether the NWC exporter is installed on this PC. There is also a sample file name for the first sheet and the first view, and the resolved destination folder.

How it works

  1. Your AI asks for the settings of the open model, or of a given .json file.
  2. BIMit reads the preset linked to the model (or the given one) and collects the allowed values from the project.
  3. Your AI receives everything and can explain the settings or prepare a change with Save preset.

Example requests

  • "Which settings do I export this model's sheets with?"
  • "What would the first sheet's PDF be called, and which folder would it go to?"
  • "Which DWG export setups are there in the project?"

What changes and how to undo

Nothing: the tool only reads. The model and the files do not change. If the model has no preset, the settings shown are not saved.

Limits

AI level required: Read. The export history is only included on request (storico); otherwise your AI only gets the number of entries.

Parameters

ParameterMeaning
percorsoRead this preset (.json) instead of the one linked to the model.
storicotrue to include the export history (default false: only how many entries).
