What it does
Sends BIMit's developer a report of a problem in BIMit. Your AI calls it by itself, once per problem, when:
- a BIMit tool fails unexpectedly (a clearly wrong result, Revit not answering for no reason);
- you tell it that something does not work.
An internal error of a BIMit tool is already reported by BIMit itself: your AI reads so in the error message and calls segnala_problema only when it has more steps or context (its report is then linked to the automatic one).
It is not meant for errors that already say what to fix (a missing argument, an access level that is too low, a package that is off, no model open), nor for errors of the code your AI writes (esegui_csharp, esegui_python, scripts).
The report holds a summary, the steps to reproduce the problem, what was expected and the severity. BIMit adds the AI's latest calls in this session (only the tool's name and whether it went well; a promoted script reads «script_promosso») and the last lines of its log cut to time, level, place in the code and type of error: never the text of the messages.
Never the content of your models. Before the report leaves your PC, BIMit hides the user folders (they become %USERPROFILE%), the names of project folders, models and files (they become a short code, such as f-5dae2d30), e-mail addresses and any token or key the AI might paste. BIMit's server applies the same rules again.
How it works
- Your AI notices that a tool failed unexpectedly, or you tell it something is wrong, and it calls segnala_problema with a clear summary and the steps.
- BIMit prepares the report, removes the personal data and queues it on this PC (folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\BIMit\Segnalazioni). The same report is not repeated in the same session, and there are at most 10 AI reports per day.
- If you said yes to automatic reports (the BIMit pane asks once; Settings › Advanced turns them on and off) and you are signed in, the report goes at once and your AI gets its code; if BIMit is not connected right then, it goes by itself as soon as it is. If you did not say yes, it stays on this PC and is not sent, and your AI tells you so: you can send it yourself in Settings › Advanced › Automatic reports, with «Send now».
- In the BIMit pane, the AI action that had failed shows «Reported» once the report was sent.
It also works with Revit closed or stuck: then the report waits in the queue and goes the next time Revit starts (with your yes). With several Revit sessions open the report goes to one only: your AI does not have to choose.
Example requests
- "The PDF export stopped without saying anything: report it."
- "This does not work: the WBS wrote wrong codes on the doors."
- No request at all: if a BIMit tool returns an internal error, BIMit has already reported it and your AI carries on.
What changes and how to undo
The model does not change. A small file is written in the report queue on your PC; after sending, only a line remains in the list of the latest reports (Settings › Advanced). You can turn automatic reports off at any time.
Limits
Always on (package Read). At most 10 AI reports and 10 automatic ones per day from this PC; the server accepts at most 20 new ones per day per account. Summary up to 500 characters, details up to 4000, up to 20 steps.
Parameters
| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
riepilogo | Required. The problem in one or two sentences: what happened and what was expected (3–500 characters). |
dettagli | Other useful details: the error message, the context (up to 4000 characters). No model content. |
strumento | The BIMit tool that failed, if any (for example tavole_esporta). |
gravita | bassa (a nuisance), media (the default: something does not work) or alta (it blocks the work or puts data at risk). |
passi | The steps to reproduce the problem, in order (up to 20, 300 characters each). |
