Model information

Technical name: modello_info

Model › Read

Reads

The essential information about the active model in Revit, from its levels to the BIMit project it belongs to.

What it does

Gives your AI the overview of the active model in Revit: file title and path, Revit and BIMit versions, whether it is a family file, whether it is workshared or read-only, the project information, the levels with their elevation, the active view, the project's length unit, the other open documents and the BIMit project the model belongs to.

It is usually the first tool your AI calls, to know which model it is working on.

How it works

  1. Your AI asks for the model information, with no parameters.
  2. BIMit reads the active document in Revit: levels from lowest to highest, with the elevation in project units; the project information (not for family files); the other open documents, links excluded.
  3. Your AI receives the data and summarizes it for you or uses it for the next steps. Nothing changes in Revit.

Example requests

  • "Which model are we working on? Give me the levels and their elevations."
  • "Is the model workshared? Which BIMit project does it belong to?"
  • "What other files do I have open in Revit?"

What changes and how to undo

Nothing: the tool only reads. The model and files do not change.
