What it does
Lists all the project parameters of the model, shared or not (not global parameters, not family parameters), like the "Parameter manager" (Gestione parametri) window. For each parameter:
- id, name and, if shared, GUID;
- binding (instance or type), data type and "Group parameter under" group;
- the categories it is bound to;
- how many elements have the parameter and how many have a value, counted in the whole model without linked models (for type parameters, types are counted);
- the resulting use: All filled, Partly filled, Empty, No elements (or Not counted).
A value counts when it is really there: a non-blank text, a reference to a valid element; numbers and yes/no count once set, even when they are 0.
At the top of the list are the model's totals: how many project parameters, how many shared, empty, partly filled, all filled and not counted, and how many pass the filters.
How it works
- Your AI asks for the list, with the filters it needs (for example only the empty parameters, only shared ones, only those of one category).
- BIMit reads the project parameters and, unless asked not to count, reads each category once and counts the values on all its elements.
- Your AI summarizes the result for you or uses it in the next steps, for example to suggest which parameters to delete.
Example requests
- "Which project parameters are empty across the whole model?"
- "List the shared parameters bound to Rooms, with how many rooms have them filled in."
- "How many project parameters does this model have, and how many are type parameters?"
What changes and how to undo
Nothing: the tool only reads. The model and files do not change.
Limits
- Works on a project, not on a family open in the Family Editor.
- In large models counting the values can take time: with
contaset tofalsethe list comes back at once, but without counts, and theusofilters that depend on the counts find nothing. - Linked models are not counted.
Parameters
| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
cerca | Words to look for in name, parameter type, instance/type, data type, group, categories and use (all must be present). |
tipo | condivisi (shared, with GUID) or di_progetto (project, not shared). |
legame | istanza (instance) or tipo (type). |
uso | vuoti (counted and without values, also with no elements), con_valori (at least one value), non_contati (not counted), or an exact use: nessun_elemento (no elements), in_parte (partly filled), tutti_compilati (all filled). |
categorie | Only parameters bound to at least one of these categories (OST name, name in Revit's language, or id). |
conta | Count the values in the elements (default true; false is faster). |
