What it does
Returns two lists:
- the categories that accept project parameters, including those with no elements in the model: for each, the id, the OST name (for example
OST_Walls), the name in Revit's language and the kind of category (Modello = model, Annotazione = annotation, Analitico = analytical, Altro = other); - Revit's "Group parameter under" groups, the sections of the properties where a parameter can appear: name in Revit's language and id, with the default one (Data).
These are the exact names needed to bind a parameter to the right categories and in the right group, for example with Add shared parameters, or to filter parameters by category with Project parameters.
How it works
- Your AI asks for the list, optionally for one kind of category or with some words of the name.
- BIMit reads from the project the categories that accept parameters, and from Revit the property groups.
- Your AI uses the names or ids in the next steps, or shows them to you.
Example requests
- "Which annotation categories accept parameters?"
- "What is the structural framing category called in Revit, and what is its OST name?"
- "Which property groups can I put a new parameter under?"
What changes and how to undo
Nothing: the tool only reads. The model and files do not change.
Limits
Works on a project, not on a family open in the Family Editor.
