What it contains
The tools your AI uses to work on the parameters of the model open in Revit:
- writes values into the parameters of elements and types (text, numbers in project units, yes/no, references to other elements), in a single operation you can undo;
- lists the categories that accept parameters and Revit's "Group parameter under" groups, the data needed to bind parameters to the right categories;
- lists all project parameters, shared or not, with their binding (instance or type), data type, group, categories and how many elements have them filled in;
- deletes project parameters that are no longer needed, in a single operation you can undo;
- saves the list of project parameters to a CSV file for Excel.
The last three do, by talking to your AI, what BIMit's "Parameter manager" (Gestione parametri) window does.
When to use it
- To fill in parameters on many elements from a table, from a rule, or from what your AI has read in the model.
- To clean up before a submission: find the project parameters that are empty or bound to categories with no elements, and delete them.
- To check how well the parameters required by the specification or the BIM Execution Plan are filled in.
- To hand the client or the team the list of the model's parameters in an Excel sheet.
The tools
- Set parameters: writes values into the parameters of elements or types, in a single operation you can undo.
- Categories and groups: the categories that accept parameters and Revit's "Group parameter under" groups.
- Project parameters: all project parameters with binding, data type, group, categories and how many elements have a value.
- Delete project parameters: deletes project parameters, shared or not, in a single operation you can undo.
- Parameters to CSV: saves the list of project parameters to a CSV file for Excel.
Good to know
Every change to the model can be undone with Ctrl+Z in Revit; team actions ask for confirmation in Revit.
Where it is in Revit
BIMit tab › Data panel › Parameters. From the package, "Open window" opens BIMit's "Parameter manager" (Gestione parametri) window: the list of project parameters with filters, value counts, CSV export and deletion with confirmation.
