What it does
For each of the given elements (up to 50) it returns category, name and the full list of instance parameters and, if requested, those of its type. For each parameter: name, value as Revit shows it (in project units), data type (text, integer, number, reference to an element), whether it is read-only, the GUID if it is a shared parameter, and the internal BIP: name if it is a Revit built-in parameter.
It is useful when your AI needs to know exactly what a parameter is called and what value it has, before reading it on many elements or writing it with another package.
How it works
- Your AI gives the element ids (for example from Find elements or Read the selection).
- BIMit reads the parameters of each element and of its type, in alphabetical order.
- Your AI receives the list and summarizes it for you, or uses it for the next steps.
Example requests
- "Show me all the parameters of the selected wall, including the type's."
- "What is the Thickness of this floor's type? Id 345678."
- "Which shared parameters does this door have?"
What changes and how to undo
Nothing: the tool only reads. The model and files do not change.
Limits
At most 50 elements per call (further ids are ignored).
