Project › Archive

Files emails, documents and notes in the project, and sorts the files left in the Arrivi folder into the projects.

What it contains

The tools your AI uses to keep a BIMit project's emails and documents in order. You drag or paste the files into the conversation, or leave them in the Arrivi folder, and BIMit brings them into the project's folder: one subfolder for emails, one for documents and one for notes, the date in front of every name, the emails' attachments extracted next to them. The same file never enters the archive twice.

BIMit reads the text of emails (Outlook .msg, .eml), of Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and of text and HTML files; other files (PDFs, drawings, images…) are filed as they are, without extracting their text. What it reads goes back to your AI, which can record decisions, deadlines and to-dos in the project's diary (Diary package). Everything filed, text included, can be found later with Search the project.

The project's folder is its working folder, if you gave one; otherwise the one BIMit gives it among the projects, Documents\BIMit\Commesse\<name>. The archive's index, with the text read, is in BIMit's memory, the hidden .bimit subfolder of the project's folder. The folder must be on your PC, not on the network nor synced with OneDrive.

Neither tool changes the model: they only write in the project's folders on your PC. They also work with Revit closed.

When to use it

  • An important email arrives (a quote, minutes, a client's request) and you want it in the right project, with its attachments.
  • After a phone call or a meeting you want to keep your notes as a note of the project.
  • At the end of the day you drag the emails of several projects from Outlook into the Arrivi folder and ask your AI to sort them.
  • You want your AI to know the content of the documents you received, to keep the project's memory up to date.

The tools

  • File emails and documents — copies emails, documents, folder references or a note written in the conversation into the project.
  • Sort incoming files — lists the files of the Arrivi folder with the project recognized and moves them into the projects.

Good to know

AI level required: Read (the tools only write in the project's folders on your PC, never in the model).

These tools do not change the model.

Where it is in Revit

BIMit tab › Project panel › Archive.

The package has no window of its own: you use it by asking your AI. The Arrivi folder is Documents\BIMit\Arrivi, unless you chose another folder for the projects; you see it, with the projects folder, in Settings › Projects, where Change… picks another folder for both and copies their content there.
