What it does
Exports the image of a view (PNG or JPG) as Revit draws it and returns it to your AI as an image, so that it can see it. With no view given, it uses the active view.
It can also:
- highlight some elements in red and, in 2D views, write each one's id next to it;
- crop the image around those elements, with a margin;
- create a temporary isometric 3D view around the elements, with a section box.
If some highlighted elements are not shown in the view (hidden category, above the cut plane, filters…), your AI is told and can ask for the 3D view.
How it works
- Your AI gives the view (or uses the active one) and, if needed, the elements to highlight.
- BIMit exports the image. To highlight and crop it works on a temporary copy of the view, which it then rolls back: your view and the model stay as they were. Sheets cannot be duplicated and are exported without highlighting.
- Your AI receives the image with the view's name, type and scale, looks at it and answers you.
Example requests
- "Look at the Ground Floor plan and tell me whether every door is tagged."
- "Show me the elements you found, highlighted with their ids."
- "Show me the area around these pipes in 3D."
What changes and how to undo
Nothing: the changes made to highlight and crop happen on a temporary copy of the view, rolled back right after the export. Your view and the model do not change, and the temporary image on disk is deleted.
