What it contains
Three tools your AI uses to work on MEP systems in Revit: it reads the current model and the linked models (MEP runs, elements to pass through, rooms), creates runs of pipes, ducts, cable trays and conduits along a polyline, with the elbows between segments, and connects two MEP elements to each other. Coordinates are in millimeters, measured from the project's internal origin; your AI can take the points from the model or ask you to click them in Revit with Ask for a point.
Each run or connection is a single Revit operation: if Revit reports an error the model stays as it was, and a single Ctrl+Z removes what was done. With "prova" your AI can simulate first. After each change BIMit reads the model back and checks the position, slope, type, system, sizes and connections of the segments, looks for new clashes in the area and collects Revit's warnings; on request it shows a picture of the area before and after.
When to use it
- To lay out mains, branches and connections of pipes, ducts or cable trays quickly from dimensions, a survey or clicked points.
- To bring a pipe or a duct to a fixture or an air terminal and connect it.
- To close missing connections between nearby segments with the right elbow, transition or union.
- To find out which linked models there are and what they contain, before looking for clashes or creating spaces.
The tools
- Linked MEP models: the current model and the loaded links, with MEP runs and elements to pass through by category, rooms, phases, selected MEP elements and worksets. Nothing changes.
- Create pipes and ducts: a run of pipes, ducts, cable trays or conduits along a polyline, one segment per leg, with the elbows between segments and the connection to a fixture at the start or the end.
- Connect systems: connects two MEP elements by their nearest free connectors, directly or with the right fitting.
Good to know
Every change to the model can be undone with Ctrl+Z in Revit; team actions ask for confirmation in Revit.
Where it is in Revit
BIMit tab › MEP panel › Systems. The package has no BIMit window of its own: you use it by talking to your AI.
