What it does
Runs an entry of the Diary ("d12") again: same tool, same arguments, on the entry's document or on another open document. With "argomenti" your AI changes values compared with the entry (a null value removes an argument).
The call goes the same way as every call: the AI's access level, the code checks and the approvals apply as when the tool is called directly. The approval you gave for that call ("conferma") is never repeated: if the tool asks for it again, your AI asks you.
For code that ran, BIMit runs exactly the recorded code again, recognized by its sha256:
- if the file or the saved script is the same as then, it runs it from there;
- if it has changed or is gone, it runs the copy saved in the project;
- if the copy is missing or was modified too, it stops: it does not run code different from what was recorded.
With "anteprima" (preview) your AI sees, without running anything, the tool, the document, the arguments (code as its number of lines and sha256) and BIMit's notes; then it asks you whether to go ahead. Once the call has run, the result starts with "Rieseguita la voce d12…" (entry d12 run again) followed by the answer of the repeated tool; the new call goes into the diary with "ripete d12".
It stops and says so if the entry does not exist, if it is an operation on the project (kind "commessa": not repeated), if the arguments were too long and were not kept in full, or if the tool does not exist in this version of BIMit.
How it works
- Your AI finds the entry in the Diary and calls the tool with "anteprima": it shows you what would run again, on which document and with which values.
- If you agree, your AI calls it again without the preview and BIMit runs the entry's tool in Revit, like a normal call. It is a risky tool: with BIMit's "Confirm risky actions" option on (it is on by default), the apps that support it ask for your permission at every call.
- You see the result of the repeated tool; if it is a team action, Revit asks for your confirmation as always.
Example requests
- "Run d12 again on the block C model."
- "Redo the last parameter write, but with the value 'Phase 2' instead of 'Phase 1'. Show me the preview first."
- "Run the script we ran yesterday on the architectural model again."
What changes and how to undo
It changes what the repeated tool changes: if it writes to the model, the change is a Revit operation and is undone with Ctrl+Z in Revit; if it writes files, those files. The preview changes nothing. Element ids are valid only in their own model: on another document, arguments with ids have to be changed.
Limits
- The tool itself works at the AI level "Read", but the repeated tool needs its own level (for example "Write" for a write), which you choose with the "Level" button on the BIMit tab.
- Needs Revit open, with BIMit connected to your AI: it does not work with Revit closed.
- The document to run it on must be open in Revit.
Parameters
| Parameter | Meaning |
|---|---|
voce | The diary entry to run again (e.g. "d12"). Required. |
commessa | Id, name or alias of the project. Default: the one active in the conversation, otherwise the one of the active document. |
documento | The open document to run it on (title, file or path). Default: the entry's own. |
argomenti | The values that change compared with the entry, e.g. {"valori": [...]}; null removes an argument. |
anteprima | true: shows the call without running it. |
