What it contains
The team actions on workshared models: the ones that reach the central model, and so every colleague. With this package your AI can synchronize your model with central, relinquish borrowed elements and your worksets, and save a workshared model as a new central.
None of these actions starts on its own. Each request becomes a job: your AI gets its number right away and is not blocked, while a BIMit dialog opens in Revit saying exactly what is asked, on which document and what will happen. The action runs only if you tick "I have read the request: I approve this action only" and choose "Approve"; "Deny" does nothing. Your AI follows the request and gets the result with Job status, and can withdraw it with Cancel the job until you answer.
To use them, your AI's access level must be Team: only you raise it in Revit (Level), for a time you choose, and it goes back to the default level when that time ends and at every Revit start. A worker Revit, opened by BIMit in the background, does not do team actions.
When to use it
- At the end of the day, or after an important change, you want to synchronize with a comment without looking for the command.
- A colleague needs to edit elements or worksets you hold: you relinquish them.
- You want to keep your worksets but give back the borrowed elements, or the other way round.
- You have prepared a workshared model and want to make it the team's central in a project folder or on the network.
The tools
- Synchronize with central — synchronizes the model with central, with a comment, relinquishing, compacting and local save as you choose.
- Relinquish elements — relinquishes borrowed elements, worksets or both to central, so colleagues can edit them.
- Save as central — saves the workshared model as a new central model at the path you give, or replaces an existing file if you ask.
Good to know
Synchronizing, relinquishing and saving as central cannot be undone with Ctrl+Z, which is why they always ask for your confirmation in Revit, except a new test central in the system temp folder (%TEMP%).
Where it is in Revit
BIMit tab › Project panel › Team.
The package has no BIMit window of its own: you use it by talking to your AI, and the approvals come in a Revit dialog.
