What it contains
Three tools that hand your AI the whole model as tables: one lists the tables BIMit can write, one exports the model to CSV files, one reads those files page by page, with filters and search.
The export writes up to 15 CSV tables plus the index 00_INDEX.md, which describes their content and columns: project information, categories, families, types, type parameters, elements, element parameters, parameter definitions, levels, rooms and spaces, worksets, links, materials, views and sheets, warnings. Column names are English identifiers, the same in every language; values are in SI units (meters, square meters, cubic meters, degrees), Yes/No as true/false, numbers with a decimal point.
BIMit only reads: the model is not changed. Each export goes into a new subfolder (model name, date and time) and never overwrites earlier ones.
When to use it
- Questions about the whole model that would take many one-by-one reads: how many elements per category, which types are unused, which parameters are empty, which views are on no sheet.
- Quality checks: Revit warnings, unloaded links, rooms that are not placed or not enclosed, worksets.
- Checking whether the model has a given parameter, shared, project or global, and which categories it is bound to.
- Keeping a snapshot of the model at a given date, to read again later or to compare with a later export.
The tools
- Available tables: the 15 tables BIMit can write, with columns, size and saved choice, and the exports folder.
- Export for AI: writes the chosen tables and the index into a new subfolder. The model does not change.
- Read the export: reads a table or the index of an export, page by page, with column filters and text search.
Good to know
AI level required: Read for Available tables and Read the export, Write for Export for AI (it writes files on this PC).
None of these tools changes the model.
Where it is in Revit
BIMit tab › Data panel › Export for AI.
From the package, "Open window" opens BIMit's "Export for AI" window: on the left you tick the tables ("All", "None", "Without large tables" buttons), on the right you choose the folder and whether to open it when done, then click "Export" (during the export it becomes "Stop"). The window and the tools share the same choices: the folder and tables saved by the window are the ones your AI uses unless it names others.
