What it does
Returns the levels of the open project, from lowest to highest, as the "Move level" window shows them. For each level:
- id and name;
- the elevation in project units, measured from the level's own point: Project Base Point or Survey Point, depending on the level type (it says which);
- the same elevation written as you would type it in Revit, useful to repeat it without moving the level;
- the elevation from the Project Base Point, from the Survey Point and from the Internal Origin;
- whether the level is pinned.
It also gives the project's length unit and which level is "proposed", that is the one the window would start from: the level selected in Revit, otherwise the active view's level, otherwise the lowest one. Analyze the move and Move level, when you don't name a level, also use the selected one or the active view's.
Elevations are shown with as many decimals as needed not to hide part of the value, even when the project shows fewer.
How it works
- Your AI calls the tool, with no parameters.
- BIMit reads in Revit the project's levels, the Project Base Point and the Survey Point, and works out the elevations.
- Your AI gets the list and shows it to you, for example to choose the level to move.
Example requests
- "List the model's levels with their elevations."
- "What is the elevation of Level 2 from the Survey Point?"
- "Which levels are pinned?"
What changes and how to undo
Nothing: the tool only reads and changes neither the model nor any file.
Limits
- Works on a project, not on a family.
